Dues Rules Reference

The following are the current rules that apply to dues questions and are subject to change. Please select the subject you are interested in from the following menu:

DUES
Members are responsible for verifying that dues are being deducted from their pay by the 31st day of their employment. If the initiation fee has been waived, they are responsible for dues from the 1st day of employment.

When we find a member who is actively working for a company and not paying dues, whether it be after several months or years, we will collect the full amount of dues and initiation fees owed for that members back to their hire date or the full amount due for that member for the number of years specified by law, whichever is lesser.

Members who are out on Worker’s Compensation or sick leave are responsible for paying twice the current per capita rate for each full month they are out. Call the Dues Department for the current amount charged.

Members working two jobs within our Local are only responsible for paying dues to the company which collects the higher amount of dues. Members working at another UFCW Local are only responsible for paying dues to the Local who enrolled them with the International first. Members working at another AFL-CIO union, that is not a member of the UFCW, are responsible for paying dues to both Unions. (ie: Teachers, State Employees, UAW members, etc.)
